Happy Bithday Daniel!

Happy 9th birthday Daniel.

Today it poured down rain and our neighborhood was flooded at knee level.

The baseball game was cancelled, but not the picture taking.

The plan was to go to KFC for lunch and then to the skating rink. The flooding was so bad that we couldn't get to the rink.

The rain finally stopped and we headed to El Jarrito for the Family birthday party.

Daniel couldn't wait for everyone to sing "Happy Birthday" and wear the sombrero. At the age of 9 I would have rather died than go through that. In fact I remember a birthday dinner with Terri, Grandmother and Charles at Steak and Ale where I cried because the waiters came and sang "Happy Birthday". I think I was 12 or 13.

Daniel was so happy to have his family and friends there to celebrate. However, there was one guest that stole the show. Thankfully Daniel was very proud to introduce Carlito to everyone as his 15th cousin on his father's side of the family.

Everyone fell in love with Carlito. He is a very happy baby and a great addition to our family. Number 15 was a winner.

Gotta Read This

Over at Notes From the Trenches you have to read her post "It's What's For Dinner". I just adore her stories about her youngest, Miles. He is a hoot!

So Many Things I Want to Say About This One

Saw this sign on the side of the road at a stop light yesterday afternoon.

Okay, so there are just so many things you could say about this sign. First one that pops into my head is, "I guess God scared him so much he can't spell anymore". Or "why can he spell Mobile and can't spell mechanic"? Also, "Do you care whether your mechanic can spell his profession or not?" See what I mean? This one sign could lead a discussion for hours.

Opening Day - Game 1

It was opening day for Katy YMCA baseball. Our team this year is the Yankees. Last year our team, the Dodgers, were undefeated. Game 1 this year the score was 10 - 3 and it is a win for the Yankees! We are looking forward to a great year.

Rodeo Houston

It's been a long time since my last post. I never know how the time gets away from me, but it does.

Daniel and I went to the rodeo with Hayden, Ross and friends. Everyone had a great time. These first pictures were taken from our seats. I had gotten special tickets from work and it was part of a suite.

And some more . . .

Happy Valentines Day

It was a Happy Valentines Day here in Casa de Argueta. Our family has come into the 21st Century with the purchase of a laptop computer. We can now all sit in bed and laugh at youtube. Check this video on youtube. Poor kid. It is funny, but a little disturbing at the same time. I could see Ross doing this though.

Luckily Kate Wasn't There

When we go out to eat the children gravitate towards the video games. The amount of money spent on video games is based on how badly you wish to have an uninterrupted adult conversation. Once that is determined you dig for quarters from the bottom of your purse, from your husband's dirty pockets and if you have a grandparent around you hit them up too.

Last Saturday we went to Wild Wings. This place had a bar that was almost 1/2 of the restaurant. There were TV's with sports events going on and many were indulging at the bar while others were there indulging in buffalo wings at the tables. The children immediately scoped out the place and saw the video game. That's right game - not games.

This video game was located at the back of the restaurant near the bar. The game was probably more of an adult game as you see below.

Yes it says Moose's Shootout. By the time we all realized what they were playing the only thought that came to mind was if Kate ever comes to visit we can't bring her here.

Then I started thinking if I blog this I wonder if Kate will contact CPS. It's Texas! Don't forget that Kate.
