El Salvador

Here are a few pictures that Cisco took while he was in El Salvador.

Returning home after washing the clothes in the river. Those buckets are vey heavy from wet clothes.

Main mode of transportation (back of a pick-up). The driver makes his living transporting people into town on the back of his truck.

This is where Cisco and all of his siblings went to school. It is no longer a school, but is being used for other purposes.

3rd Place

Daniel had his first Gymnastics Competition last night and came in 3rd place. Granted there were only 4 kids on the blue team competing last night. The 1st place winner is 12 years old. For only being on the team for 6 weeks we are very proud of all he has learned.

This is a picture of Cisco's mom. She died last night in El Salvador. All 8 of her children are slowly gathering in El Salvador for her funeral, scheduled for Sunday, October 12, 2008, her 77th birthday.

Getting Excited over TP

Who gets excited about buying TP? Me.

One of our neighbors has a Halloween Party every year for some of the children in the neighborhood. This year she asked for help with buying some things for the party as she is going to do a haunted house. She sent out a list of all the things she needed. Things like Halloween decorations, child type food and beverages, adult beverages, cooked spaghetti for the bowl of brains the kids will be touching and the need for 40 rolls of TP for some mummy game the children will be playing. She suggests that the 40 rolls of TP be divided between 2 parents due to the cost. I get to thinking that I am sure I can get the TP cheap as I don't pay more than $0.25 a roll and when the coupon Gods are working lots of magic I can get 4 rolls for $0.25. So I decide to be the hero and offer to provide all of the TP. That will get me out of having to cook something for the adults or the children. I do plan to provide and partake in the adult beverages. Maybe lots of adult beverages depending on how many children are present and how loud they get.

This past Saturday I am doing my normal shopping and couponing and I come across the above TP that has not been listed in the sales ad, however, it is on sale for $1.19. I scour my coupon binder and low and behold I have a $0.50 coupon off of any Cottenelle TP. Doing the math:

Price of TP - $1.19

Coupon (Doubled) - $1.00

Cost of 4 rolls - $0.19

I procede to find as many of these coupons as I can. Think about it 40 rolls for $1.90! I have only been able to come up with 8 coupons, but I will continue on the search as the party isn't until the 18th. The only problem with all of this is that I would prefer to keep the TP for our personal use. Something about wiping my ass with TP that costs 5 cents a roll seems like coupon nirvana.
