Saturday, August 1, 2009 - 9:00 AM and 90 degrees
It is either hot or cold here in Houston, TX, but we enjoyed a record breaking snowfall today. Those in the North will laugh that the kids were dismissed from school early due to the "record" snowfall of 1 - 2 inches. We're expecting icing tonight as the temperatures will dip to 25 degrees. After living here almost 20 years this has been very exciting.
Obviously, we weren't prepared with the proper clothing to play in the snow. No snow pants, no waterproof boots, no ski jacket. Luckily Daniel just dressed in double layers and wore his sneakers. It reminds me of when we first moved to NJ and didn't have a clue about all the snow gear we would end up having to buy. I can remember shopping for snow boots and wanting to make sure I got the right ones so I would fit in with the Princeton crowd. Can't believe that even children's snow boots would be a status symbol.
